What is SSC GD Constable?
SSC GD Constable is matriculate level exam which is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year for the recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles as per the Recruitment Scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Students who have completed their matriculation or Class 10 and are between 18 to 23 years are able to apply for SSC GD constable exam. The selection process consist of Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

SSC GD Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualifying:
To apply for GD Constable you must have a graduation degree or diploma or 10th Pass from a recognized board or government authorized educational institute.
Age Eligibility :
The minimum age to apply for GD Constable should be 18 years and maximum age should be 23 years. Candidates fulfilling the age limit can apply for GD Constable.

SSC GD Exam Pattern
SSC GD Exam will be held in three main phases:
- Written examination (Computer Based)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
The test will be having multiple choice questions with four sections with 25 questions in each section. Each question will carry 1 mark. Wrong answers will be given a negative marking with as much as 0.25 marks for every error committed.

Note:
- Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere in India.
- 10% vacancies are earmarked for Ex-Servicemen (ExS). If suitable Ex-servicemen candidates are not available, vacancies reserved for Ex-servicemen will be filled by non-Ex servicemen candidates of respective categories.
- Vacancies are state/ UT wise hence a candidate must submit domicile/ Permanent Residential Certificate against his/ her state/ UT.
- The appointment of candidates after selection is subject to availability of seats in training facilities of various CAPFs. As such, candidates may be appointed in phases in accordance with availability of training space.
- There is no interview procedure for SSC GD Constable Exam.

SSC GD post of Constable will have a pay scale of Rs.21700 to 69100 under 7th Pay Commission.

SSC GD Selection Procedure
SSC GD constable selection process is based on below mentioned 3 major factors:
- Written Examination: It is an Objective Type paper which carrying 100 Marks.
- Physical Standards Test & Physical Efficiency Test
- Medical Test
SSC GD Application Process & Fee
The application fee for SSC GD Exam is Rs. 100/- for General category candidates and those who belong to SC/ST/PWD category are not required to pay any application fee.
How to apply: Applications must be submitted only in online mode at http://ssconline.nic.in only. The process of submitting applications for the said recruitment examination consists of two parts: (i) One-Time Registration and (ii) Filling of online Application Form.
