Official update check
Checked on 25 August 2026: SSC lists the 2026 Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs examination on its exam portal. Exact 2026 application dates, vacancies and cut-off dates should be confirmed from the cycle-specific notice on SSC.gov.in. The stable exam structure below is verified against SSC’s official 2025 notice.
SSC CPO: the essential facts
SSC CPO is the common name for the Staff Selection Commission examination that recruits Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Forces. It is a graduate-level selection process with written, physical and medical stages.
Posts
SI (Executive) in Delhi Police and SI (GD) in CAPFs.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Age band
20–25 years for the 2025 cycle; cycle-specific cut-off and relaxations apply.
Pay level
Level 6: ₹35,400–₹1,12,400 in the 2025 official notice.
Who should join SSC CPO coaching?
This program is suitable for graduates and final-year candidates who want a disciplined plan for both written papers and who are ready to begin physical preparation early. It is also useful for repeat candidates whose scores are held back by sectional timing, accuracy or inconsistent revision.
Male candidates targeting SI (Executive) in Delhi Police should plan for the LMV driving-licence requirement before PET/PE&MT. A licence is not required for the CAPF SI post under the 2025 notice.
A sensible fit if you need
- A complete subject schedule instead of scattered topic practice
- Timed 30-minute sectional drills for Paper I
- Regular mock analysis focused on accuracy and question selection
- Continuous Paper II English preparation
- A realistic written-study and PET routine running together
What the SSC CPO course covers
The coaching plan follows the actual demands of Paper I and Paper II. Subject teaching is paired with timed practice so students learn when to attempt, skip and review questions.
Reasoning
Verbal and non-verbal reasoning, analogy, classification, series, coding-decoding, spatial reasoning and logical problem solving.
General Awareness
Current events with history, culture, geography, economy, polity, the Constitution and scientific awareness.
Quantitative Aptitude
Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, data interpretation, time-work and time-distance.
English
Grammar, vocabulary, error recognition, sentence structure and comprehension, with deeper Paper II practice.
PET/PST planning starts alongside written preparation
Written marks decide merit, but failing a qualifying physical stage ends the attempt. Start endurance work early and confirm with your chosen centre what practical, on-ground support is included in the batch.
SSC CPO coaching duration and fees
These fees are taken from the current Scholars SSC Academy SSC Coaching Program. Confirm your centre, batch start date and seat availability before payment.

SSC CPO exam pattern
The 2025 official notice introduced a 30-minute sectional timer for each part of Paper I. Paper II is also divided into four timed parts of 30 minutes each. Both papers use objective multiple-choice questions, and each wrong answer carries a 0.25-mark penalty.
Paper I
| Section | Questions | Marks | Section time |
|---|---|---|---|
| General Intelligence & Reasoning | 50 | 50 | 30 minutes |
| General Knowledge & General Awareness | 50 | 50 | 30 minutes |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 50 | 50 | 30 minutes |
| English Comprehension | 50 | 50 | 30 minutes |
Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours. Parts I–III are set in Hindi and English; the English section remains in English.
Paper II
| Subject | Questions | Marks | Total time |
|---|---|---|---|
| English Language & Comprehension | 200 | 200 | 2 hours |
Paper II tests error recognition, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure, phrases, idioms and comprehension. The official 2025 notice divides the paper into four 30-minute parts.
PET and PST standards: what candidates should plan for
The figures below are the standard benchmarks in SSC’s 2025 notice. Category, region and force-specific height/chest relaxations exist, so candidates must check the notice that applies to their examination cycle.
Physical Standard Test
| Candidate | Height | Chest |
|---|---|---|
| Male — standard category | 170 cm | 80 cm unexpanded / 85 cm expanded |
| Female — standard category | 157 cm | No minimum chest requirement |
Weight must correspond to height. Do not rely on this short table for category relaxations.
Physical Endurance Test
Male: 100 m in 16 seconds; 1.6 km in 6.5 minutes; long jump 3.65 m in 3 chances; high jump 1.2 m in 3 chances; shot put (16 lb) 4.5 m in 3 chances.
Female: 100 m in 18 seconds; 800 m in 4 minutes; long jump 2.7 m in 3 chances; high jump 0.9 m in 3 chances.
Important: PET/PST is qualifying and carries no marks.
SSC CPO eligibility checklist
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent by the cycle-specific cut-off date
- Age 20–25 years in the 2025 notice, with permitted relaxation for eligible categories
- Male Delhi Police SI candidates: valid LMV licence for motorcycle and car on the PE&MT date
- Required physical and medical standards for the selected post
- Valid category, education and identity documents at verification
Final-year candidates may apply only when they can meet the qualification cut-off stated in the relevant notification.
