RRB NTPC is popularly known as Non-Technical Popular Category in Indian railways. In 2019, RRB has announced 1,30000 vacancies for NTPC, para-medical staff, ministerial and isolated category, and level-1 posts. Now its time to pull up your socks and tie your belt to make the career in railway.

RRB NTPC Eligibility

The eligibility criteria of RRB NTPC is given below in terms of age and educational qualification.

Age limit

For 7th CPC Level 2 and 3 undergraduate level posts, candidates should be between 18 to 30 years as on July 1, 2019.

Note: Relaxation in age is provided to candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

For graduate posts Candidates must be a graduate from a recognised university

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

The RRB NTPC Exam Pattern consists of the following stages:

  1. CBT Stage – 1
  2. CBT Stage – 2
  3. Skill / Aptitude Test
  4. Document Verification
  5. Medical Examination

*Note: The Skill Test is applicable for those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Accountant Assistant, Senior Clerk cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper, while the aptitude test is for those who have applied for the post of Traffic Assistant and Assistant Station Master.

RRB NTPC CBT-I exam (Computer Based Exam-1st Stage):

The CBT-I exam consists of three subjects. There are total 100 questions and time period is 90 minutes. Each question carries 1 mark. There is also a provision of negative marking. Each wrong answer gives penalty of 1/3 mark. Please see the below table:

CBT exam (CBT-I) syllabus 

Mathematics:

Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics etc.

General Intelligence and Reasoning:

Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement- Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs etc.

General Awareness:

Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance- constitution and  political system, General Scientific and Technological Developments including Space and Nuclear Program of India, UN and Other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India etc.

RRB NTPC CBT-II exam (Computer Based Test-2nd Stage) :

The CBT-II exam consists of three papers having total 120 questions. Each question carries one mark and there will be 1/3 negative marking for each wrong answer. Please see the below table for details:

RRB NTPC Salary 

RRBs offer a handsome salary package along with other benefits. The salary is as per Seventh Pay Commission for undergraduate and graduate posts. RRB NTPC salary structure is given below:
