RRB NTPC Exam Eligibility Criteria
Age is reckoned as on the cut-off date fixed in each CEN (1 January 2026 for the current cycle). Standard age relaxation applies for SC/ST (5 years), OBC-NCL (3 years), PwBD and other categories as per the official notification.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
- Stage 1 — CBT-1 (screening, common for all posts)
- Stage 2 — CBT-2 (separate for UG and Graduate posts)
- Stage 3 — Computer Based Aptitude Test / Typing Skill Test (post-specific)
- Stage 4 — Document Verification
- Stage 5 — Medical Examination
Both CBT-1 and CBT-2 are 90-minute computer-based tests with 1 mark per question and 1/3 negative marking for every wrong answer.

RRB NTPC CBT Syllabus (Common to CBT-1 & CBT-2)
Number system, decimals, fractions, LCM & HCF, ratio and proportion, percentage, mensuration, time & work, time & distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, elementary algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and elementary statistics.
Analogies, number and alphabetical series, coding-decoding, mathematical operations, similarities and differences, analytical reasoning, syllogism, Venn diagrams, puzzles, data sufficiency, statement-conclusion and map-based questions.
Current affairs, games and sports, art and culture, Indian history and freedom struggle, geography, Indian polity and governance, science and technology, static GK, and flagship government programmes.
RRB NTPC Salary Structure
Pay is based on the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix, which remains in force as of August 2026. The 8th Pay Commission has been constituted but its revised pay matrix has not yet been notified, so current RRB recruitment continues to follow 7th CPC levels shown below, plus DA, HRA and other railway allowances.
