Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is an all-India examination to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various central & state universities of India including Delhi University, BHU, Allahabad University, Tezpur University, the University of Hyderabad amongst others. CUET 2023 Participating Universities
CUET will be the mandatory admission test for universities established under an Act of Parliament and are under the control and purview of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. In 2009, Parliament passed the Central Universities Act, which paved the way for the creation of 16 Central Universities in addition to the existing ones, to give representation to all states.
As of now, there are 54 central universities in India. The 54 Central Universities together offer close to 1.68 Lac seats under various disciplines at the undergraduate level. The admissions to most universities hitherto done based on merit (class XII marks) will come under the purview of CUET.

CUET 2023: Eligibility Criteria
The official notification of CUET 2023 has been released on the CUET website. As per the latest CUET notification, for appearing in the CUET (UG) – 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12th /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in CUET (UG) – 2023 examination.
However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University (ies) in which they are desirous of taking admission.
Key Points Regarding CUET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- Each participating Central University is free to decide its own parameters for CUET Eligibility for admissions.
- The weightage for CUET and Class XII Board exam results will be at the sole discretion of the Central University, to which admission is being sought.
- As of date, CUET Eligibility does not mention an age limit. However, Central Universities can fix minimum & maximum age limits for admissions to all (or any) of the programs on offer.
- For admission in Universities through CUET (UG) – 2023 , the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc. of the respective University shall be applicable.
- As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs.
- Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the eligibility criteria laid down by the University they are applying to.
- Mere appearance in the Entrance Test or securing pass marks at the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the Programme. unless he/she fulfils the Programme wise eligibility conditions of the University they are applying to.
CUET Eligibility: Reservation
As CUET is an entrance exam for admissions to Undergraduate courses at the Central Universities, which have been established under an Act of the Parliament, each Central University must follow the norms set by the Government of India, with respect to intake and reservation of seats. This section of the CUET Eligibility provides relaxation to the SC/ST, OBC, and PwD category.

To avail of the reservation benefit based on caste (or any other category as specified), a candidate must be able to produce valid documents/certificates to support such claims.
It is essential for every candidate to check the validity of their candidature via the parameters mentioned in the CUET Eligibility, as well as the Central University he/she is applying to. The candidate should be aware of the documents that might be required while applying for the exam, or during the admissions.

CUET Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme
With the amount of attention that CUET is drawing, it is essential for all aspirants to know the CUET Exam Pattern so that they can develop an effective exam strategy to ace CUET 2023.
The CUET entrance exam will be held online as a Computer Based Test (CBT). The duration of the exam will be hours 3 Hours 15 minutes or 3 Hours 45 minutes depending on the options the candidate has chosen.

CUET 2023: Marking Scheme
NTA has finally confirmed the CUET Exam Pattern & marking scheme for the upcoming exam in July. As per the official CUET notification, for every correct attempt, 5 marks will be awarded. For every incorrect attempt, 1 mark will be deducted. There will be no penalty for unattempted questions.

CUET Exam Syllabus
CUET Syllabus for Language Test
The students’ fluency in the language is to be tested through questions asked in Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative [Literary Aptitude & Vocabulary]. The languages included in Section 1A and 1B respectively are as mentioned below:
Section 1 A: English; Hindi; Gujarati; Bengali; Assamese, Kannada; Tamil; Telugu; Malayalam; Marathi; Odia & Urdu.
Section 1 B: Chinese, German, French, Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Nepali,

As per the NCERT model, the CUET syllabus for the domain-specific paper is the same as for Class XII. CUET 2023: Application Form, Exam Date & Admit Card & Selection Process
The CUET Admit Card is expected to release two weeks prior to the exam. CUET Application form is already released on the official website of CUET. Students can fill the application form till May 2023. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a centralized test for admission to undergraduate courses at Central Universities across the country. It will ensure admissions to premier central/ state universities including Delhi University, BHU, JNU, etc. Conducted by NTA, CUET 2023 will be an online Computer-Based-Test (CBT).
CUET 2023 Admit Card
The CUET Admit Card will be made available on the official website of NTA two weeks before the exam date. You’ll be notified via SMS and Email as and when the CUET Admit Card will be available for download. The CUET admit card or hall ticket contains important details such as CUET Exam Date and time, exam venue, exam centre and various other credentials related to the exam. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall and appear for the exam without the CUET admit card.
CUET Application Form 2023
The official notification of CUET 2023 along with the CUET Application form 2023 is released on the official website of CUET on 09 Feb 2023. Students can fill the application form for the exam till May 2023.
Things to keep in mind while filling out CUET Application Form 2023:
- Keep the relevant documents ready along with a scanned copy of the photograph and signature.
- The payment for the CUET application form 2023 is to be done online and one must be ready with Net banking/UPI/Credit Card/Debit Card to make the payment and complete the application form.
- The application form of a candidate will not be accepted by exam authorities till the CUET test fee is paid successfully.
- Upon successful completion of the CUET 2023 Application Form, you’ll receive a confirmation email and SMS on your registered email address and phone number.
- Hence, candidates are advised to provide a valid email id and phone number in the application form which will be used for any future communication by CUET/NTA.
- While choosing the test centre for CUET 2023, one must be careful as no change may be allowed once the CUET 2023 Application Form has been submitted.
- Further, after the completion of the CUET application form filling, download a copy of it and take print of the application form submitted for any future reference.
CUET Registration Form 2023 Step-by-Step Process
Candidates must follow the following steps to successfully apply for CUET 2023:
- Step 1: Click on the “Register” button for the fresh registration for the CUET (UG) -2023 exam. CUET (UG) 2023 portal: https://cuet.samarth.ac.in
- Step 2: Download and read the Information Bulletin carefully before applying for the CUET (UG) 2023 exam.
- Step 3: Fill out the registration form which includes Personal Details and Present Address. Thereafter, choose the password and enter the security pin and click on Submit.
- Step 4: Validate the details in the preview application section and then click on “Submit and Send OTP on mobile”. If required, you can edit your credentials at this stage.
- Step 5: Complete the verification process by entering the OTP received on your registered mobile number/email ID.
After this, your registration process is complete. You can login to your account by entering the same User ID and Password to complete your CUET 2023 application. Now, let’s understand how to fill CUET 2023 Application form.
How to fill CUET 2023 Application Form?
The application forms are released on official website of CUET. First, you’ll have to complete the registration process as mentioned above, post which you can fill in your application form for CUET. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to fill out the CUET application form 2023:
Step 1: Go to the official website of NTA
- The CUET Application form 2023 will be made available on the NTA website. Go to the official website of NTA and download the notification and guidelines to fill CUET 2023 Application Form. Read it carefully.
- Next, log in using your credentials mentioned above and start filling the application form.
Step 2: Fill out the CUET Application Form 2023
- The CUET 2023 application form will largely require the following details- Personal Details, Qualifying Exam Details, Educational Details, Correspondence Address, Course and University Preference List, Exam Centre, Photograph and Signature and Declaration.
- Fill in all the details with utmost diligence. Make sure you doubly check the spelling of the name.
Step 3: Fill out Course and University Preference
- The course and university preference form in the CUET Application Form 2023, must be filled with due diligence.
- You will first need to select the universities of your choice. And thereafter courses in the universities. There will be a cap on the maximum number of universities and courses that you can choose in one application. It will be notified in the official CUET notification.
Step 4: Fill out Choice of Language & Domain-Specific Subjects and Exam Center
- At this stage, you will also be required to mention the language that you want to opt for and the domain-specific subject that you wish to opt for. Choose them wisely.
- Next, you will also have to select the preference of your exam center. You can add upto 4 preferences.
Step 5: Upload Your Photograph, Signature & Class Xth Marksheet
- You will also need to upload the scanned class Xth marksheet, photograph, signature and other supporting documents (in case of category students) in the CUET Application Form 2023.
- Keep the scanned photo and signature ready as per the prescribed specifications (Photograph Size: 10KB – 100KB, Signature Size: 5KB – 20KB).
- Once uploaded, preview the entire application form, confirm your credentials (email ID and password) and move to the next step.
Step 6: Pay the fees of the CUET Application Form 2022
- Once you’ve filled the entire CUET 2023 Application Form, you’ll be required to pay the application fee.
- You can either choose to pay online via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI or you can download the challan to pay the fee online. Choose your preferred payment option and complete the payment.
- Application forms without the payment of fees will not be accepted. Hence, make sure to pay the application fee in due time.
- Once the application fee is paid, print the confirmation page and keep it with you for further reference.
CUET 2023 Selection Process
